BB Gandanghari visits late brother’s grave in Manila

After failing to attend his wake and burial, BB Gandanghari on Thursday, December 8, finally got to visit and pay her respects at the grave of her late brother Royette Padilla in Manila.

On Instagram, the transgender model and actress shared photos of herself visiting her brother’s grave with their mother, Eva Cariño.

In the caption, she said she misses her “kuya Royet.”

“#BitterSweet: coming home is seeing the living and those who have passed. I miss my kuya Royet, ArikiSan, my brother in law whom I have always considered my father figure and my favorite nephew, Jack Jack…. I pray for your souls, may you rest in peace,” BB wrote.

“Togetherness is precious… family ties that bind. Lots of food and laughter that brings joy to this otherwise lonely heart in a foreign land. My heart is filled, my soul refreshed. God is good… all the time.”

The eldest among the famous Padilla siblings, Royette died last year after suffering a heart attack. He was 58 years old.

Despite failing to come home to bury his brother, BB — known formerly as Rustom Padilla — paid tribute to Royette with an emotional video in which she remembered their fond memories together. In it, she referred to Royette as her loyal and protective brother.

It was on December 6 when BB confirmed that she had returned to the Philippines after years of staying abroad. The actress — who revealed that she was transgender in 2009 — was officially declared an American citizen last April.
