Shaina Magdayao returns to ‘ASAP’ after 8 years: ‘Feels like a dream’
Kapamilya star Shaina Magdayao has returned to the ASAP stage after eight years.
In an Instagram Story on Monday, December 5, Shaina shared that she taped a performance for ASAP Natin ‘To which will be broadcasted on December 11.
“I really am back inside the ASAP studio. Nostalgia is real. After 8 years, back on the ASAP stage,” she posted.
The actress remarked that she was happy to be back on the Sunday noontime show.
“Me right now. Kapuy (Pagod), but my dancer heart is happy. Heart is overflowing with gratitude for the warm ‘welcome back’ of my ‘ASAP’ family and my ever so encouraging and supportive G-Force family. Still feels like a dream though. So yes, I am officially back this December 11. So much love. Thank you. Still on a high from last night’s taping,” she posted.
Prior to her ASAP taping, Shaina shared clips of her rehearsal with G-Force on her Instagram page.
“For the love of #dance aaaaaand @asapofficial… I am baaaack! 💃🏻 (After 8 years),” she posted on Instagram more than a week ago.
Shaina said that rehearsing for ASAP felt like a dream.
“Me the whooooole time : PARANG PANAGINIP!!! 🫣😂♥️💃🏻 Joined ASAP when I was 13 …and who would’ve thought that at 33 and being a #HypoThyroidWarrior that I’d be fit and healthy enough again for my second l o v e – DANCING!💃🏻” she wrote.
The actress remarked that the rehearsal brought many memories.
“Nostalgia was real during my first ever warm up dance class since Ill be back on the #ASAP stage very soon 💃🏻 (which did not feel like a warmmm up class at all, good luck to my balakang and knees 😉),” she said.
Shaina extended her gratitude to her G-Force mentor, Georcelle Dapat-Sy.
“Thaaaanks to @gforce_official and my #mentor @teachergeorcelle for the encouragement and support!!!!…and to Teacher @gforce_mykag for being such a cheerleader,” she posted.
Shaina was previously a mainstay on ASAP wherein she had dance segments like “Supah Dance” and “MASH.”
ASAP Natin ‘To airs every Sunday on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5, and iWantTFC.
Apart from her ASAP comeback, Shaina marked a memorable occasion in her career a few days ago when she was given a loyalty award by Star Magic for being with the agency for 25 years.
The actress took to social media to pen a post for the ABS-CBN management agency and for all the people who have been with her throughout her showbiz journey.
“Gosh. I’m still letting everything sink in. Inabot ng 25, akalain mo yun?! 🤭😂 After a few (failed) attempts to quit and run away from the biz, andito pa din ako and this wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the people behind me,🤍” she wrote.
She added, “GMA, for discovering me and believing in my tears and chubby cheeks when I was 6 years old. 😂 ABS-CBN, my mother network and my #Kapamilyas who raised me — @abscbn AND @starmagicphils family from Mr. M to LMD 🙏🏻 + each and every director/coactor/staff/crew na nakakasama ko sa trabaho🤍. Yes! Celebrating life. Always.🥂”
She also thanked the Lord for guiding her in her journey.
“Still the same SHAINA but seeing this world and my #fate with a different (and definitely more grateful AND HOPEFULLY MORE PURPOSEFUL) perspective.
