Xian Lim passes first ice skating exam
Actor and director Xian Lim reveals how he prepared to pass his first ice skating exam after four months of training.
Aside from acting and directing, Xian Lim added another feather to his cap after taking up ice skating lessons for the past four months. In his latest video post, the 33-year-old artist said, “At first I thought it was impossible for me to learn a new skill this late. Also for a lot of reasons, mentally and physically, and what will others say of me. It wasn’t easy. And I fell. A lot. But with enough perseverance, and the people who believed in me, I kept going. Today I took my pre-Alpha Delta test. I passed. Congratulations, self.”
Xian also revealed his preparations leading up to the beginner-level test which tests his progression of skills which is certified by the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) in the US. He wrote, “So…this happened. I finally got to take the Pre Alpha – Delta Test (I’m always nervous about taking tests 😳😅) Skating on ice is pure bliss. Watching other skaters with years of experience, the initial reaction is…wow, this is impossible for me to learn. But to want something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.”
In the same post, Xian also made sure to thank his ice skating coach Ronan Capili for helping him prepare for the skating test. “Salamat ng marami for the patience and the enthusiasm to teach me coach @47ronan To more countless hours on ice (at sa pakikiusap sa students mo to have their slot)“
Earlier this year, Xian starred in Always with reel and real-life partner Kim Chiu under Viva Films. Previously, the couple were last seen together on the big screen in 2015 in the film All You Need is Pag-Ibig. They also worked together on the ABS-CBN drama series Love Thy Woman in 2020.
