LOOK: Kris Bernal holds a Christmas party for animals at a local shelter: ‘My heart is full!’
Animal lover Kris Bernal recently celebrated a Christmas party at an animal shelter in Morong, Rizal with more than 2,000 abandoned animals.
As part of her advocacy this Christmas, Kris Bernal showed her extra generous side during the holiday season with a series of giveaways that started on her social media page. The 33-year-old actress also held an outreach at a local animal shelter as posted on her Instagram account last December 26.
She wrote, “#KRISanta has arrived in town, specifically at MBY Pet Rescue & Sanctuary, to give a Christmas Pawsome party to 2,000+ dogs & cats with my loyal SHE-zums! We did it!!
“My heart is full knowing we’ve managed to provide 700kgs of pet food to over 2,000 abandoned animals. I know it’s far from enough and it’s still a long a way to go to help small sanctuaries like MBY but I’m happy that my team and I mounted this event to make this festive season extra memorable, not only for us, but these furbabies too. Thank you so much for supporting this donation drive!

After uploading a vlog on her YouTube channel chronicling the whole experience, Kris shared how she ended up choosing that particular shelter.
“Ang laki pala nitong MBY Pet Rescue and Sanctuary. Kasi nung nag-scout kami for an animal shelter, sabi ko yung medyo hindi kilala, hindi napupuntahan. Kaya eto, andito kami sa MBY sa Morong, Rizal. So first time ko lang din pumunta dito pero matagal na rin kaming nag-do-donate ni mommy dito… Grabe sobrang daming aso’t pusa. Sanay naman ako sa mga animal shelters. Sanay ako sa ingay, sanay ako sa amoy kasi nga ang dami ko na ding napuntahan.”

At home, Kris is also a loving pet parent to her dog Elle of whom she posts photos on her account from time to time. In one post, she wrote, “GIGIL MO AKO! Being a fur mom is sort of a challenging job because it consumes a lot of your time, especially if your fur kid is extra clingy and your fur dad (@choi.perry) often asks for updates and checks to see if she’s been fed on schedule, completed training, and taken for walks. It’s like my husband is testing me if I am going to be a responsible mother to a child. Lol But at the end of the day, seeing #ELLE healthy and happy is one of my greatest joys.”
Last July, Kris and her non-showbiz husband Perry Choi went on their long overdue honeymoon and visited countries like Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, and Spain.
