Is Nadine Lustre ready to marry boyfriend Christophe Bariou?
MMFF Best Actress winner Nadine Lustre shares why she made special mention of boyfriend Christophe Bariou in her acceptance speech during the recent 48th Gabi ng Parangal.
During her acceptance speech as the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress for her role in Deleter, Nadine Lustre delighted fans when she made special mention of her non-showbiz boyfriend Christophe Bariou. After going public with her relationship earlier this year, Nadine has kept a relatively low profile on her relationship with the Fil-French businessman.
Mabuhay ang MMFF at mabuhay ang pelikulang Plipino,” Nadine said after accepting the award.
Although she admitted that her boyfriend is not a big fan of horror films, Nadine explained how supportive he was while she was filming the Mikhail Red film.
“He was very supportive nung nag-shu-shoot kami. Nagpupunta siya sa location, hinahatid niya ako minsan. He understands I guess how tiring and how taxing kasi nga horror. And usually we would shoot every night, medyo late na din. So he knows how taxing it could be. He’s just there to support me and always inspire me and tell me to always give my 110% kahit na may mga days na ‘Ah sige bahala na yan!’ He would always remind me to always give my 110%,” she shared.
The couple, who had just enjoyed a trip to France last September, have kept out of the limelight even after Nadine relocated to Siargao island during the pandemic where Christophe’s business is based. Nadine clarified that this does not mean they are ready to settle down just yet. “Ay wala pa, hindi pa ready (laughs),” she clarified.
Aside from Deleter’s impressive haul at the awards night, Nadine reacted to the horror film topping the box office charts as well after its first week theatrical run.
“It’s just numbers. As an actress, as someone who loves her craft, yung pinaka una talaga sa akin is yung alam kong na-entertain ko yung mga Pilipino, na-entertain ko yugn audience. So if ever man that is true, I’m really, really happy that Deleter is doing really well. Sobrang unreal. Hindi ko ma-explain. Kasi talagang hindi kami nag-expect ng anything. So yun lang, parang hindi pa nag-si-sink in (laughs). Honestly, I was more happy that the MMFF is back. I know na yung panunuod ng sine every holiday season is a huge tradition for Filipinos so more than anything I was happy that MMFF is finally back,” she said.
